PARTNER FIRMS
E² Inc. works collaboratively with a number of
partner organizations as a way of expanding its range of expertise and
adding depth in specialized areas. These partnerships are flexible and
are always tailored to the needs of individual clients. The following
is a list of some of our partners.
Institute
for Environmental Negotiation (IEN)
IEN, a non-profit organization affiliated with the University of Virginia,
is a nationally recognized leader in the area of conflict resolution,
consensus building and collaborative decision making. Its work on innovative
projects such as the Bi-State Blue Crab Advisory Committee, the Virginia
Natural Resources Leadership Institute, the Southern Tobacco Communities
Project and many other projects and programs demonstrates its mission:
to practice conflict resolution and consensus building, to learn from
that practice, and to teach and build capacity of others, all in the
service of communities that are sustained ecologically, socially, and
economically.
In Hagerstown, Maryland, E² Inc. worked with IEN to assist the
City of Hagerstown with a reuse planning strategy for the Central Chemical
Superfund Site. E² Inc. and IEN helped a 20-member community-based
planning committee develop a reuse plan for the site that included commercial
office space and recreational areas that addressed the community’s
needs and priorities. Years of experience confirm that better public
decisions result from processes that are inclusive of diverse views,
and are transparent and responsive to participant needs. E² Inc.
and IEN use successful decision-making processes that have provided
sustainable solutions for communities and other stakeholder groups across
the country. For more information about IEN see: http://www.virginia.edu/ien/
